welcome back for week 5 of project 52. this week our theme was : on the shelf. i really didn’t know how i was going to portray this theme, but i finally decided on something pretty simple. in our front room of the house, we have a built in set of bookshelves. on these shelves we have books and various black and white pictures which are all special in unique ways. there are three very special pictures on these shelves. they are the newborn pictures of each of our children. i took each of these when they were only days old. they were taken before i learned to shoot indoors without a flash and are pretty simple; but they bring me a flood of memories and i adore them. there’s also our wedding picture with the Marines and the sword arch at our wedding that i love. one of my favorite pictures is of my oldest daughter when she was three years old. in it she was running to her daddy after he returned from his first deployment away from her. it was such a tender and sweet moment that i cherish. these shelves are filled with such wonderful memories..each and every one of them.

i hope you will now head over to the blog of Mary Schannen of Melange Photography and see how she captured this theme…
