project 52 l week 1 l self portrait

Hi!! I am so excited to share a new journey that I am embarking on with 20 other photographers!! It’s a 52 week project where we have 52 different themes and each week we focus on one of those different themes to stretch our creativity and keep us actively engaging our love for photography! Every week under my post will be a link to another photographer, and she will link to another photographer, and it’ll keep going until it brings you full circle back here! It’s an incredible idea, and I am thrilled to be a part of this group of amazing ladies!! You don’t want to miss out on all of these posts, so be sure to keep clicking to see everyone’s photos!!

Our first theme started off with a self portrait. Not many photographers are very excited about this.   It is always much more fun to be behind the camera!   For this project I decided to take a different approach.  Here’s my portrait:

A little about my portrait:   I love the Lord and ultimately live for Him.  I love and adore my husband who serves our country as a Marine. When we got married eleven years ago, I had no idea how much being part of a military family would shape who I would become .  I love, love, love my children and family and strive to give them a meaningful and fun life.  My wonderful childhood memories are such a huge part of me.   I long for simplicity in my life and aim to keep things pretty calm and relaxed at home. This was my first Digital SLR, where my passion for photography really came alive six years ago.  I enjoy sewing and other creative projects and last –I love to run (though these days, it hasn’t been too regular).  So there you have it, just a few things that represent who I am and what makes me Ginger.  To read a little more about me and see a picture of me you can read my “about me page”.

Here’s the other, more traditional self portrait I took..of me, behind the camera.

Don’t forget to follow our blog circle.  Next up is talented Megan.
